ToxNet is a global network of leading experts and specialists in the field of neurological movement disorders rehabilitation. This network consists of 21 leading experts practicing in 14 countries, 7 of whom are well known international key opinion leaders and 14 are experts in this field. With more than a collective experience of 250 years (range 4-25 years; average 14 years) the group is dedicated to advancing the science of botulinum toxin treatment in movement disorders.
Since their inception in 2016, ToxNet have presented as speakers in various symposiums including one at the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine World Congress in Paris (2018).
Some of ToxNet’s published works to date include a consensus on optimization of post stroke spasticity interventions with Botulinum Toxin, evaluation of spasticity patients using telemedicine and an opinion paper on the role of physical and rehabilitation medicine in COVID-19 Pandemic. Amongst a number of projects, ToxNet is currently collaborating on publication of a curriculum to standardize education for clinicians in the field of post stroke spasticity.
Individual members of ToxNet have led or have participated in many clinical trials, published a significant amount of scientific literature in this field and have held various positions at medical and academic institutions. Please visit the page “who we are” to learn more about each of the members.
ToxNet members participate in relevant international congresses, including TOXINS and The International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM). The group is currently working on a number of projects for publication and meets on regular basis.
